Brooks Leney Stephen Hollock Agricultural Advisor

Stephen is currently responsible for BPS applications in excess of £2m per year and a further £1.2m per year in Stewardship Agreements.

Stephen has been completing Single Farm Payment (SPS), Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) and Stewardship Applications since 2005.  He is involved in all aspects of Stewardship, Environmental Stewardship i.e., Entry Level/Higher Level Schemes and more recently Mid-Tier/Higher Tier Countryside Stewardship.  Going forward he is fully conversant in the new Environment Land Management Schemes (ELMS).

Starting at the application stage, day-to-day management (including inspections), continuing through to annual returns, and the liaison throughout with the Rural Payment Agency and Natural England.

He has worked closely with the Environment Agency, The Woodland Trust and the Forestry Commission for the funding of numerous woodland projects and the ongoing management of the woodland.

Stephen graduated from Writtle College with a Degree in Agriculture in 1999 and has worked for over twenty-five years within the farming industry in East Anglia, the vast majority of which, was at one of the UK’s largest farming businesses where he covered a wide range of matters affecting the business including the successful application and management of farm support, environmental schemes, diversification projects and renewable energy. Working closely with regulatory and agency bodies.

Stephen is also trained and qualified as an agronomist and has held both BASIS and FACTS qualifications since 2002.

At Brooks Leney Stephen provides advice on a range of matters including BPS, Countryside Stewardship and the new ELMs schemes, abstraction licences, Farm budgets and cashflows as well as Farm assurance matters.

Outside of work Stephen enjoys spending time with his family in the rural countryside of Suffolk.
